Perched on Level 35 of London’s iconic Shard, afternoon tea at Shangri-La is a must. Served at TĪNG Restaurant, the menu changes seasonally – we were lucky enough to try the romantic Love Is in the Air menu for Valentine’s Day. The standout? For us, it was the scones. Freshly baked, warm, and perfectly fluffy – they were truly divine.
The spa and wellness facilities are even more impressive. Honestly, it blew us away. You’ll find a spectacular infinity sky pool with panoramic views over London, a sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows, and bespoke treatments including ELEMIS massages and facials – all 125 metres above the city.
It’s a luxury experience through and through, perfect for a special occasion or just treating yourself to something unforgettable. It’s not cheap though, but do it once – you won’t regret it!

Afternoon tea at The Savoy isn’t just a treat, it’s an experience. One of London’s best afternoon tea spots, it’s been served up since the hotel opened its doors in 1889. Served in The Gallery, you’ll enjoy delicate finger sandwiches, savoury bites, warm homemade scones with clotted cream, jam and lemon curd, plus an exquisite selection of pastries crafted by the hotel’s expert pastry team.
The spa is equally as divine. The highlight is a stunning swimming pool set beneath a glass atrium, bathed in natural light and complete with a jet stream for resistance swimming. For treatments, The Savoy brings in a guest wellness expert each season, offering a rotating menu of personalised therapies designed to relax and recharge.
It’s definitely not a budget-friendly day out – but if you’re after a luxury London spa with afternoon tea, this is hard to beat.

When we visited, the menu featured five perfectly cut, crustless finger sandwiches, warm plain and fruit scones, and delicate sweet bites like strawberry meringues.
The spa is a showstopper in its own right. Set on a dedicated wellness floor filled with natural daylight, it’s a calm, contemporary escape in the heart of the city. There’s a stunning 20x8m pool, six luxurious treatment rooms, and even two high-tech Somadome meditation pods (like mini spaceships) for an immersive relaxation experience.

The real star though is Le Kalon Spa. This is really an oasis of calm with grand marble interiors and hand-painted walls. For us, the spa’s standout feature was its authentic Turkish hammam. When we visited, we tried their signature treatment: a black soap cleanse followed by a full-body exfoliation using a traditional Kessa mitt. But there are a fair few to choose from!

When we visited, we had the choice between a traditional afternoon tea or the Royal version (which includes a glass of Prosecco). The menu didn’t disappoint: think warm, freshly baked fruit scones, five tasty sandwich options, and indulgent sweets like homemade carrot cake with mascarpone (a standout!).
The spa itself feels like a calm escape from the city, with a serene relaxation pool, steam room, and sauna. The treatments also use Caudalie products – a French, award-winning beauty brand focusing on natural skincare!

At £360 for the full package, this is not your everyday treat – but if you’re celebrating something special, it’s worth every penny.

Afternoon tea is served in Kinaara, the hotel’s fine dining restaurant – it’s easily one of our top picks for Indian afternoon tea in London. Crafted by chefs Tanuj and Narayan, winners of Bake Off: The Professionals 2024, the menu is a vibrant journey through the flavours of India. Savour savoury bites like dahi puri, bread pakora, and paneer puff, followed by sweets such as pistachio and rose cake, mango tart, and potti yoghurt cheesecake. All served with a stunning view of the river.
Honestly, the spa is nice but the afrernoon tea is really something special here! With spa and afternoon tea packages starting from £150, this experience offers incredible value for a spa day with afternoon tea.
