Top 7 afternoon tea London bus tours reviewed
Most of the popular London bus afternoon teas are actually operated by the same company, but that doesn’t mean they’re all identical. Here are our top seven that we’d recommend for this year:
1. Brigit’s Bakery’s classic afternoon tea bus tour

Brigit’s is the go-to for afternoon tea bus tours in London. You’ll hop on board a classic double-decker bus for around 90 minutes and cruise past classic landmarks like Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Hyde Park, The Royal Albert Hall, Nelson’s Column, Downing Street, and more.
When you board the bus, you’ll get tea served in a Brigit’s travel mug to avoid any spillages. Then you’ll tuck into a selection of scrumptious finger sandwiches, including classics like smoked salmon and cream cheese, plus sweet treats including a bright red British-themed macaron. And what impressed me most was that the scones are astonishingly, served warm! I was very much expecting cold scones considering there’s, you know, no actual kitchen on board the bus…
The only drawback – there’s no toilet on board, so make sure you go beforehand!

Perfect for little ones, Brigit’s Bakery also hosts a Peppa Pig-themed afternoon tea. The double-decker bus is completely Peppa Pig-themed on the outside, our little one was beyond excited. On board, the built-in iPads show a Peppa Pig-guided animation as you follow the same bus route as the classic afternoon tea. Plus, there’s an onboard entertainer who leads sing-alongs and a few fun, family-friendly games. The cherry on the cake for us was that each child gets a Peppa Pig activity book to take home and each family gets a Peppa Pig travel cup.
In terms of the menu, it’s very pink! Think pink Peppa cookies, cupcakes and little strawberry tarts. It’s just as delicious but a little more child-friendly.

I’ll be honest, there are so many bus tours by Brigit’s Bakery! We actually have yet to try all of them, but there are plenty of others on offer you can try. They all roughly follow the same route and have a similar menu depending on what you pick.

3. PG Tips afternoon tea bus tour

Well, if you’re going for afternoon tea, you may as well go for the official PG Tips one. This afternoon tea sightseeing tour lasts around 90 minutes and goes past lots of the main sites including the London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Tower of London. There’s also a guide on board who talks you through some of the history of each part of London and gives some fun facts throughout.
The afternoon tea is actually made fresh on board – the lower deck is a kitchen and the upper deck has 11 tables to sit at. It’s not quite a retro red double-decker bus, it’s more of a coach-type vibe. But that’s not a bad thing – it’s really impressive to have the kitchen on board! The menu features a good selection of sweet and savoury treats, freshly baked scones, and your choice of hot drink served in a travel cup that’s PG Tips-themed!

I really did not expect afternoon tea, bus tours and Taylor Swift to all come together at once, but here it is! New for 2025, this Taylor-inspired bus tour is a 90-minute experience where you see the sights of London while listening to all of Taylor’s hits. I initially thought the route was the same as Brigit’s but I checked the map afterwards and this was actually more extensive. You essentially do a loop around the river and then another loop around the area near Victoria. You roughly see all the same famous spots though like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the Tower of London.
The menu is fairly good, you get bitesize sweet treats like red velvet cake, mini doughnuts, macarons, chocolate eclairs as well as scones, wraps and sandwiches. Plus, you also get a souvenir mug to take away with you. The only downside is that there’s no tour guide on this one, it’s more for the experience than to learn about London and the sights.

ABBA fans rejoice! Much like the Taylor Swift bus tour, the ‘Here We Go Again’ bus tour lets you enjoy 90 minutes of London sights paired with non-stop ABBA music. You’ll cruise past Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the Tower of London while singing your heart out to Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Super Trouper and so on. The high tea menu is again pretty standard – you’ll tuck into smoked salmon and chicken Caesar sandwiches, cupcakes, shortbread biscuits, macarons, scones with jam and cream – you get the picture.
In all honesty, the menu isn’t ABBA-themed at all really. But it’s a great vibe to listen to Waterloo while you drive past Waterloo with a scone in hand, I have to admit! It’s our best choice for overall vibes.

Why is this one so low down? Well, Windsor isn’t actually in London, it’s in Berkshire. And it takes about one hour to get to from London Waterloo. It’s on our list because it is of course a classic British landmark and often associated with London, though is London-adjacent. Sorry!
Anyway, this ‘London’ afternoon tea bus tour takes you around the classic sights of Windsor including Windsor Castle, Eton College, and the Holy Trinity Church. The afternoon tea is pretty classic – finger sandwiches and cakes and scones, though all done very nicely. Plus, there are vegan and gluten-free options!

Buy though Golden ToursBonus pick: London afternoon tea cruise on the River Thames

Though not on land or wheels or a bus, another great way to see the city is to take an afternoon tea cruise! In the last few years, boats up and down the river have become much more popular and much more accessible. This 90-minute cruise lets you see a lot of the main sites riverside – you’ll head east to pass the London Eye, The Shard, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and then back again. The best part is that there’s an open upper deck, so once you’ve finished your tea, you can take a stroll upstairs for a better view of the landmarks. It doesn’t cover quite as many landmarks, but it’s a lot of fun and very once in a lifetime.
